My company has this whole active health thing as part of our benefits package. We sign up on this Vitality website, and take this test about our health. This got me thinking about how unhealthy I really am (the stupid test told me my body is older than I actually am). So, today I signed up for a health and wellness tracker that also has a water counter. AND, it has a Blackberry app so I can input my activities while on the go. Bonus! Now, I can add being healthy to the new year's resolution like every other person out there. Hopefully it will actually last the whole year unlike every other person...lol....

Yet another new eats from a food truck. This time around I tried Tapa Boy, and though they had run out of almost everything on their menu, I did snag a Tocino Bowl. I might have been because I was starving, but this bowl was freakin yummy! And I loved that they had banana sauce...bonus! the pickled salad was also surprisingly good. I will definitely try this truck again, especially since they have turon (an eggroll with-wait for it-banana, jackfruit, and caramelized sugar)...and they go one step further and add Nutella to the mix...what?!? I'm so there!

Thanks to my awesomely talented boyfriend, Wayne, I have been blessed to attend some major events these past few years. Most of the time, I get to attend the HBO after party for the Emmy's or Golden Globes, but this year, I just so happened to get a pass into the Fox Golden Globes Party AND to top it off, I got to walk the red carpet! (They usually only let the celebs on the red carpet, but you know, we know people...hehe...

Highlights: got to see the cast of Modern Family, one of my favorite shows of all time! Also, saw Edward and Carlisle (aka Rob Pattinson and Peter Facinelli), but was not allowed to take a pic with them, boo! Oh well, next time!

It has been really windy here in the Valley, which equates to my allergies kickin my ass. (And, yes, this time it really is allergies, and not a cold =P) My allergies have been so bad that I've had to resort to doubling up on my meds. I don't know if you've experienced the effects of allergy meds, but most give you this out of body, drowsy, floating feeling that I hate. So I've tried my share of allergy medicines. This one is yet another allergy med that I've decided to try. I was taking Zyrtec for a good long time, and Wayne bought me this one because even Zyrtec wasn't cutting it. Unfortunately, Formula Care does give me that weird head feeling (not as bad as others *cough* Benadryl *cough*, but still there) so I don't think I'll be taking this on the daily. Nice try though, thanks Wayne!

Had a GNO for Jen's bday, and Krystallin had the bright idea to have Jen wear the Bachelorette sash that was at Regina's house. We all played Jen's bridesmaids. Now, I've seen the Vegas commercial, but never did it in real life. Who would even believe that someone would have their bachelorette party at Busby's? Well, it worked, and we even got a couple of free shots out of it! LOL! Fun times!

It has been crazy busy at work, and on top of the restructuring of our unit, accounts being moved around, and being one person short, everyone has been getting sick. So, when one of our execs landed a new account, I stepped up and volunteered to be the Account Manager on it! I didn't realize how much more work new business was until I started diving into what was needed to get this thing written. Even now, there's still a lot more to do, and I'm actually really enjoying getting to build an account from the ground up instead of inheriting one from someone else.

We went out for my BFF, Mike's bday. He picked this place in Ktown that serves German beers called Beirgarten (on Western). An interesting thing on their menu is the beer float. So, of course, this had to be my new thing! There were three different floats to choose from: chocolate stout and french vanilla ice cream, chocolate stout and coffee ice cream, and Blue Moon and orange sherbet (pictured). I couldn't even taste the alcohol of the Blue Moon because the sherbet pairs so well with it. With the chocolate stout, you get a little bitterness, but it is quickly enveloped by the vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, no one tried the coffee ice cream, but there's always next time!

btw, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE 2 and my lil sis, JEN!!!

Our building decided to have food trucks in our plaza on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays since we lost our food court because they're doing construction to bring in Target and Best Buy. Today I tried the Me So Hungry truck. I ordered the Short Rib Sliders with onion rings. The sliders were bomb, and the onion rings were crunchy on the outside with a soft, thick onion. One of the better trucks I've tried, but now you'll be hearing about others since they'll be so accessible! LOL!

Okay, so I've been sick for the past few days. I've been trying to deny it, blaming it on my allergies, but I can't do it anymore. So, I've broken down and finally admitted that I am really, truly sick.

FYI: I'm such a wuss when it comes to medicine. I hate, hate, hate taking pills, especially ones that are bigger than a Skittle. So, of course, when I get sick I ALWAYS buy liquid DayQuil and NyQuil. Guess how ecstatic I was when Wayne pulled out this box! Had I known when he told me we have both DayQuil and NyQuil at home that they were pills, I definitely would have stopped by Walgreens or Rite Aid to buy the liquid versions. But alas, I am currently stuck with these, so today I have taken the pill version of NyQuil for the first time in my life.

So, I've always wanted to get a shower curtain for our bath tub that wasn't just a clear or frosted one. I've been eying curtains at Target since we've moved into the house, and never committed to any. The last time I had a decorative shower curtain was when I lived with my parents, and my mom picked it out. So, it wasn't something that I would've picked.

Now that I have my own home, I get to call the shots. I like this one because #1: it adds a pop of color to an otherwise ordinary bathroom without being an eyesore, and #2: it isn't too girly, so Wayne won't feel like his bathroom got invaded. If you're trying to add a little style to your bathroom, try adding a decorative shower curtain. It's cheap, simple, and easy to install.

So my best friend, Mike, decided to have his birthday at this new bar called Wellesbourne. It's on Pico in West LA. They got booths in one room, couches in another, and the third room has a shuffleboard and Foosball table. The bar is along the back wall and they make it like your in a library. The bar stools running along the bar, which is a good idea in concept, but it makes it harder to order drinks. It's a pretty cool spot, but the service kinda dragged, and there was a grip of people crowding the bar. It would've been better if they had waiters/waitresses serving the booths and tables, or at least one side of the bar that didn't have stools, making it more accessible to the people who weren't sitting at the bar. I get the theory of this spot, but the delivery was short.

On a better note, I did have fun with my friends, and I'm glad my BFF had a great time! (Another side note: explanation of the picture-when they give you your receipt to sign, they stick it in these books; pretty clever!)

Wayne decided to have a little poker game at the house. So, of course the guys are gonna bring beer, but I wasn't expecting this. Yes, you read right. Just when you thought they could go no further, Kirkland goes and makes their own beer! This was a variety pack, so I decided to try the Hefeweisen. It's actually not bad. It has a citrus-y crisp taste with a wheat bite. What you would expect from a Hef. It's not really bitter, and if I had let the bottle chill out in the fridge for longer, I bet that I wouldn't have had any bitter after taste at all.

So, on Thursdays, there's a Farmer's Market outside the building I work at, and one of the booths makes these awesome crepes. They recently added quesadillas to their menu, and now its my favorite thing to eat. The new one that I tried was their Chef Special: mozzarella, feta, ham, spinach, and mushrooms. I actually look forward to Thursdays, and their healthy, yet tasty crepes/omelets/quesadillas.

I ran out of my normal body wash, and instead of heading over to Target and replacing my usual Oil of Olay, I went for this stuff that Wayne's mom said is better for my skin. So, I tried a new line of Artistry Body Wash that just came out this month. The stuff wasn't half bad. It doesn't lather up like I want it to, but it does the job.

Tried this great Thai/Sushi place in Burbank: Gindi Thai. On the corner of Riverside and Pass. I love the Mango Avocado Shrimp Salad!

After a night of too much fun, I decided to start things off a bit boring. It had come to my attention that my boyfriend and I have never had a movie marathon in the house that we've been living in for over a year. So, I decided to have this be my first new thing of 2011.
